1

day - Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Leaving Arusha, you’ll take a picturesque 45-minute drive through the Machame village en route to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. As your permits are being arranged, you’ll have time to watch the energetic preparations of other trekking groups. Once you start your hike, you’ll enter the rich rainforest zone, walking along winding paths surrounded by vibrant plant and animal life. Your guide will offer interesting information about the area’s unique environment throughout the journey. Because the lower sections can be wet and slippery, we strongly recommend wearing gaiters and using trekking poles to ensure better grip, stability, and overall comfort.

2

day - Machame Camp to Shira Camp

After a good night’s rest and a filling breakfast, you’ll leave the rainforest zone and start climbing toward higher ground. The route leads across the valley and up a steep, rocky ridge before turning west and following the edge of an impressive river gorge. Eventually, you’ll arrive at the Shira campsite. As you continue to ascend, the air becomes cooler, signaling your entry into the high-altitude environment.

3

day - Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Although you’ll finish the day at nearly the same elevation where you started, this stage is extremely important for proper acclimatization. From the Shira Plateau, the trail leads east along a ridge, passing a junction that directs climbers toward Kibo Peak. You’ll then continue southeast toward the striking Lava Tower—often called “Shark’s Tooth”—standing at 4,650m (15,250ft). Shortly after passing the tower, you’ll come across another junction that branches off toward the Arrow Glacier route.

4

day - Barranco Camp to barafu Camp

After breakfast, we begin the challenging climb up a ridge, preparing to conquer the exhilarating Barranco Wall, one of the trek’s most memorable sections. From the top, we make our way down into the breathtaking Karanga Valley, arriving at the junction that leads to the Mweka Trail. This part of the trek provides a perfect opportunity to observe the skill, teamwork, and determination of your crew as they master the wall effortlessly. The day concludes with an overnight stay at Karanga Camp.

5

day - ASCENT TO UHURU PEAK AND DESCENT TO MILLENNIUM CAMP

Departure from Barafu Camp (4,640 m) at night and the start of summiting Kilimanjaro: Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Technically the climb is relatively simple; however, the most challenging part is the high altitude. Each pair of climbers will get a personal guide for the entire ascent to monitor your physical and mental conditions. After your successful ascent to Uhuru Peak, you can descend to the nearest glacier if desired. Then you will return to Barafu Camp and after a 2-hour rest continue your descent to Millennium Camp (3,820 m). Note: Don't forget that 90% of all accidents occur during descent, including all broken arms and legs. Please pay attention to your feet, as there is a high risk of damaging your toenails.

6

day - DESCENT FROM MILLENNIUM CAMP TO MWEKA GATE

The camp is situated in a tropical rainforest. When you wake up, you will feel relief from the reduction of the height and the satisfaction of reaching the summit. After a warm breakfast, you will head for the park's exit: Mweka Gate (1,650 m). After your descent the whole group will gather to congratulate you, followed by offering you a chance to share your opinions on the climb in the guestbook. Lastly, we will present you with your commemorative certificates in our office and provide you with a transfer back to the hotel.
