Frequently Asked Questions

Most international visitors require a visa to enter Tanzania. You can apply for an Online e-Visa before arrival or get a Visa on Arrival at major airports and borders. Tourist visas are normally valid for 90 days. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your travel date.

Tanzania is a year-round destination, but the best time depends on what you want to see: June to October – ideal for wildlife viewing and the Great Migration in Serengeti. December to March – best for calving season in Ndutu and warm beach holidays in Zanzibar. April to May – rainy season; fewer crowds and lower prices.
